Our German Shepherd Dogs have medium prey drive. This means they have gumption to work and be active, but not that high ball drive/bite drive that makes them go all the time. There are breeders with high drive GSDs, but that's not us. I specifically looked for medium energy/drive lines when purchasing our male bc he is my Service Dog. We raise European straight backs verses the super slope show American standard. Also our dogs are under 85lbs like the original German standard.
Our dogs are regularly socialized and continue training. I'm probably biased, but our Levi is off the charts intelligent, and our trainer says so too. Several of his siblings are SDs(service dogs) also. His litters of pups are all over the nation and over a dozen are SDs or therapy/service dogs in training, and are happy, highly intelligent, and stable. The LAK adults are PennHIP and OFA hip, elbow, patellar, and cardiac tested and certified before breeding. Additionally, all adult dogs are DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) and MDR1 (Multi-Drug Resistance 1) clear.
